It's been a couple of months since my last prayer letter updates. As you know I am sending requests via e-mail these days.
RECENT EVENTS Since I wrote you last, was the National Day of Prayer. I was encouraged by the large number of people who turned out on the former Seinfeld set at CBS studios to engage in prayer for the entertainment industry. I was invited to lead the prayer session on behalf of the Jewish people in the industry.
One of the things that the Lord has put on my heart, (that I invite you to join me with in prayer on), is for the concept of a Jewish person believing in Jesus to emerge in prime time television in the next couple of years.
There are other communities, (such as the homosexual community) that strategized over a 15 - 20 year period of how to get their 'agenda' onto mainstream media. The strategy of, first having a comedic, minor gay character in a show, soon evolved into a more major character who was sympathetic rather than comedic. Eventually, we had a whole show dealing with this issue. Then came several shows. And now, an entire cable network devoted to promoting and exploring the homosexual lifestyle.
As believers called to be salt and light to our culture. I think we need to be just as strategic. This is just beginning to happen as many of us are working together and seeing God at work. Many of the Christians out here are just starting to think along these lines in terms of looking to have a long term influence on content in the media and entertainment.
One such program that is beginning to make great headway is called Act One. They have been successfully training up writers for Hollywood. This is the first year of their new Executive Program designed to develop and train executives who can eventually be in a position to 'green-light' projects for film and television. I was invited to be a part of the guest faculty for the summer program. I will be doing a session entitled. "Hollywood Perspectives: Values, ethics and culture."
Pray for me as I prepare this class.
HOLIDAY BLESSINGS
Passover was an opportunity for me to invite many of the non-believers and new believers I know who are Jewish to our Messianic Seder.
Among those in attendance was a screenwriter named Stewart. He is recently professing Jesus as Messiah, but not convinced of His Deity or historicity of Biblical events. Please pray for the Lord to reveal himself to Stewart.
CELEBRITY READING On June 21st, I worked as a directorial consultant with to Ken (a major television writer/producer) on the reading of a new play he has written. The cast included Jason Alexander (George on Seinfeld) , Ed Asner, (Lou Grant) Wendie Mallick (Just Shoot Me), Jennifer Tilley and several other celebs. It was great seeing some of them again and the performance went well (how could it not with a cast like this??).
We are meeting this week for a 'debrief'. Please pray for my time with Ken. I would love the opportunity to work with Ken in the future and to share my faith with this very influential, non-believing Jewish producer.
FILM FESTIVAL FRUIT
About a month ago was the 168 Project. This is a large film festival I have been involved with that is sponsored by Christians making short films based on Bible verses. At the final night of screening these films, I invited some Jewish non-believers to attend with me.
One of these was Art. He is the editor on a number of network TV shows. (Currently, the show Hope and Faith.) I have been sharing about the Lord with him for a couple of years. He 'unofficially' separated from his wife, Gail. However, Gail also came to this 168 film festival and as it turns out just accepted the Lord last week. Pray for Gail to grow in her faith and for Art, (who is also Jewish, but not yet a believer) to come to know the Master.
EQUIPPING CHRISTIANS IN ENTERTAINMENT
Recent speaking engagements within the body of believers included teaching on sharing your faith with Jewish people to the entertainment industry group at Lake Avenue church as well as a group at Calvary Community Church. The cool thing is that at both of these places, the Christians brought non-believers to hear me speak. (so I was able to give an actual example as we went)
Pray for Ronan, a manager in the music industry who is exploring Christianity.

Here are some specific project requests:
I recently pitched a show to one of the cable Networks and it seems there is interest. Pray that it moves forward and works out according to the Lord's purposes.
I am producing a small support DVD for an adoption agency committed to facilitating adoptions of girls in China. The company funding the project does not have the finances for completion, so it has been stalled. Please pray that this gets worked out in a way that glorifies God.
Please also continue to pray for my Jewish mother, Marsha to come to the Lord. (It is a huge burden on my heart)
